NoiseXTerminator 2/AI3 for Photoshop Beta Test

NoiseXTerminator 2/AI3 for Photoshop is now available for beta testing. This is a major update with all of the features of the PixInsight version, including a live preview that enables easy tuning of all of the parameters.

In addition, the Windows version now leverages DirectML instead of TensorFlow, bringing GPU acceleration to PCs with non-NVIDIA GPUs. If you have a machine with a capable AMD GPU, for example, you should see significant performance increase over previous versions of NoiseXTerminator. Use of the GPU is automatic. In cases where no GPU exists or it is not performant enough to be used, NoiseXTerminator will fall back to using the CPU. (PixInsight users, DirectML support is coming soon.)

Is my GPU supported?

The MacOS version of NoiseXTerminator still uses the “CoreML” library from Apple, and any GPU that this library supports should work.

On Windows, to see if your GPU will work to accelerate NoiseXTerminator, try this Google search.

Because of the myriad combinations of OS versions, Photoshop versions, GPUs, etc., it is not possible to test every combination. If you have a GPU but NoiseXTerminator doesn’t seem to be using it, some combination of those factors is preventing it. Support in these cases will be very limited – try searching the web or asking in your favorite forum.

Is my version of Photoshop supported? What about Affinity Photo?

Photoshop CC (2013) and later are supported. Earlier versions of Photoshop may work, but are not officially supported. Affinity Photo version 2 is supported. Version 1 may work, but is not officially supported.

Is my version of Windows supported?

NoiseXTerminator 2 requires either Windows 11, or the “22H2” version of Windows 10. Earlier versions of Windows will not work.

What are all those new sliders about? That looks really complicated!

Check out the online manual. The images are for the PixInsight version, but the Photoshop version is very similar.

Alright already, how do I get this beta version?
